Sign On Bonus

The CSP tech cleans, sorts, inspects, wraps and sterilizes surgical instruments. They assist with repairs and refurbishing orders for instruments.

They maintain adequate supplies needed for cleaning and sterilizing items in Central Sterile Processing.

JOB DUTIES - Collects and receives used Surgery, Central Distribution and other department items such as instruments trays, etc.

Decontaminates, washes, rinses and inspects patient care items. Operates Steam, and Sterrad Sterilizers. Dates and places recall data on all items sterilized and biological indicators in sterilizer.

Assist with the ordering of supplies and instruments needed to maintain the department. Dusts, cleans, and decontaminates shelving and work areas.

Inspects sterile trays and instruments on routine and assigned basis for expiration or compromise of packaging. Accomplishes other tasks as assigned by CSP Manager, Educator or CSP Supervisor.

Takes call 1 to 2 nights on a 6-week schedule. Follows Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school graduate or GED required.
• Must complete Certification class and attain Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) within 1 year of employment.
